Our A+ comprises two weeks: week 1 for software and week 2 for hardware and repairs

The latest version of CompTIA A+ is CompTIA A+ 2009 Edition. Two exams are necessary to be certified:

  • CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-701)

  • CompTIA A+ Practical Application(220-702)

CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.

CompTIA A+ Practical Application is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials, with more of a "hands-on" orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.

For candidates certified under previous versions of the exam:

CompTIA A+ certified professionals who are encouraged or required by their employers to remain current on their certifications have two options:

1. Take the CompTIA A+ 2009 Edition (two exams).

2. Only those who are certified in the most recent version of CompTIA A+ (2006 objectives) by taking 220-601 and one of the following: 220-602, 220-603 and 220-604 exams are eligible to update their currency through taking the CompTIA A+ bridge exam (one exam), which covers the new objectives.

The existing CompTIA A+ exams, 220-601 through 220-604, remain relevant and are in use by organizations and educational institutions throughout the world. Those exams will remain in the market until July 31, 2010, to allow all who are training or studying with current materials to complete their course of study.

Why A New Exam?

The CompTIA A+ exam was last updated in 2006. Releasing a new version of the exam ensures that CompTIA A+ reflects changes in technologies and covers the latest skills needed by IT technicians. Additionally, CompTIA A+ is ISO 17024 accredited and must be reviewed and updated every three years to maintain accreditation.

CompTIA - Bridge Exams (Upgrade Exam)

CompTIA A+ certified professionals who are encouraged or required by their employers to remain current on their certifications can take the CompTIA A+ Bridge Exam (BR0-003). Only those who are certified in the most recent version of CompTIA A+ (2006 objectives) by taking 220-601 and one of the following: 220-602, 220-603 and 220-604 exams are eligible to update their currency by taking the CompTIA A+ bridge exam (one exam), which covers the new objectives.

How our training works

  • Training is conducted in our classroom, using a competent instructor who has shown skills in a real world environment, and who also has the necessary skills to impart his knowledge to a group of students.

  • Classes are small - usually 4 to 8 students, so attention to each student is possible.

  • Classes allow for informal question and answers as well as plenty of hands on practical labs. Each student has his or her own computer and will be set tasks throughout to complete. There is no time pressure for these tasks.

  • On completion of the course, you will receive a completion certificate from 2KO International.

  • Before you tackle international exams, make sure you are aware of the requirements and have plenty of practice testing before hand.

  • 2KO is an authorised test centre for all CompTIA exams so you can book through one of our exam administrators.

Included in your course fees:

  • Tuition

  • Breakfast (Mondays to Fridays)

  • Lunches on actual course days

  • Stationery

  • Certificate of attendance

  • Pre-course preparation materials (sent by email) for paid up students

This course may also available as an online course. Click here to see our online courses.
